Matjaž Pikalo’s “Different Signs” represents the borderline, the contact between architecture and poetry. They were made as a part of a sketch scheme within the framework of a workshop for the urban development of the Prevalj village settlement in 1999. The ideas developed during the author’s close co-operation in the field and then in the studio when the final draft of the project was made. Pikalo’s poetic inspiration came through associations, in part based on the impressions of the concrete area and in part based on proposed changes made by the architects Urša Komac, Blaž Križnik and Špela Kuhar in the form of presented collages.
